Ultrasound is an examination method with high-frequency sound that allows the condition of the soft tissues of the hand (tendons, nerves, muscles) to be assessed without external influences. The skin and the tissue are not affected.
This examination method, together with a targeted x-ray, often provides the first indications of pain and other problems on the wrist or hand and is therefore often the first choice. Overlap (ganglion) often cause long-term pain in the wrist can thus often be easily identified, but also on other complaints, an ultrasound can quickly clarify.
